Yale Keyfree

Digital Door Lock

Yale have just released a lock which gives you smart control of your front door.

Operated by wireless remote or keypad, you gain complete and flexible control over your door entry system. Connect the lock to your home automation for further accessibility and custom reports. For example, remotely unlock your door for a visitor or receive notifications whenever the door is opened.

With 20 programmable user codes, you can even assign one to your cleaner or contractor, granting them access at a time which you specify. This puts you in control and reduces the risk of any unwanted entries.

NYCE WirelessDoor Hinge Sensor

The upcoming wireless door hinge from NYCE is an innovative new addition to their range of door sensors.

Built-in Zigbee wireless technology allows for communication with your home control system and unlimited customisations. The hinge can be used to alert you to a door opening at night time or to operate the light scenes in the morning!

KAV birthdaysJune 16th was a special day for KAV London, with 3 of the team celebrating their birthday. We visited All-Star Lanes in Bayswater for a great night of bowling.

50 Miles! On Sunday 21st June, we are proud to report that Peter completed the London to Brighton bike ride in aid of the British Heart Foundation. 2015 marked the 40th year of this legendary ride!
This month we unfortunately say goodbye to our beloved office manager Rebekah, who is returning to her native Australia after her visa expires.Rebekah has been with KAV London for nearly 2 years and will be sorely missed by all. We caught up with Rebekah to ask her a few things about her time here.

Q. What have you enjoyed most at KAV?

As much as I should say I enjoyed learning about the ever-changing and developing technology in this industry (which I did!), my most enjoyable experiences were spending time really getting to know my colleagues – people who are genuinely passionate about what they do and who never failed to keep me entertained!

Q. What things will you miss?

The variety of work in my job, the people and responsibility and not least, the office banter.

Q. What have you learnt?

In a job where I often have about 5 tasks happening at once, multitasking and prioritising would definitely be something I’ve learnt a lot about as well as (hopefully) perfected!

LED vs Halogen Energy ConsumptionOur LED cost comparison study against halogen bulbs has been live for 37 days now. As you can see, the 50 Watt halogen bulbs have cost £221.38 compared to £6.43 for the LED bulbs. View the live meters here.

The trip comprised of meetings with clients and visits to a number of projects that are in the pipeline.
